ORIGINS

The City Auto Glass Walleye Classic began back in 2006 on Lake Vermilion, with 34 boats competing for the cash prize of $3,400 to the winners. Now in our 15th year in 2020, our tournament continues to grow, and now features one of the largest single-day walleye tournament championship pay-outs in Minnesota, with $15,000 going to the winning team! In total, we award more than $45,000 in cash, prizes, and merchandise each year!

PROCEEDS

The City Auto Glass Walleye Classic is produced by The CAG Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization.  Since ’06, we have donated more than $200,000 to area high school and college students, with funds designated to provide scholarships assisting with the higher education goals of local young people!

PEOPLE

The City Auto Glass Walleye Classic is produced by The CAG Foundation. Tournament Director is Jamie Lindseth, and Tournament Chair is Red Lowen. We also depend upon the help of many area volunteers, including Kiwanis Club and Key Club members, friends, family, and our business partners. We thank you all, and couldn’t operate the tourney without you!

ELEVATOR SPEECH

The City Auto Glass Walleye Classic happens each year on the Saturday after opening weekend, on one of Minnesota’s best walleye lakes, and gives a pair of lucky anglers the chance to win $15,000 in one day, just for catching some fish!
